Advocate for
St. Andrew South West

Dr. Angela Brown Burke, M.P. J.P.

Angela Brown Burke’s development of advocacy and leadership abilities started during her time at Wolmer’s School for Girls in the 1970s. During her tenure at the institution, she was a proactive champion for student rights and engaged in various extracurricular activities, including the debating club, the Maths Club, and numerous other school organizations.

Her awareness of the significance of community service was cultivated during her formative years on Oxford Street in West Kingston, where she was an engaged member of the Girls’ Brigade and All Saints Anglican Church. Upon reaching the age of 16, she relocated to the coastal town of Yallahs in St. Thomas, where she collaborated with fellow residents to promote community involvement, ultimately resulting in her election as Secretary of the Yallahs Community Council.

A voice when it matters

As a political representative, I remain acutely aware that my role is one of service above self. It is both a honour and a duty to be the voice of the voice less and to stand up for those in need. A task that requires courage, conviction and consistency. This is my solemn pledge to the people of South West St. Andrew.
